Explorers

Explorers is the fifth section in Scouting for 14-18 year olds. We meet on Monday evenings, 7:15-9pm. Our unit is called Direwolves ESU.

As an Explorer you will take the lead to learn new skills and try new activities, have fun and make friends. You will go on camps, hikes, expeditions as well as complete top awards to learn about the world and how to make a positive impact in local and international communities. You could volunteer with younger sections and complete the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) or Young Leaders belt.

Some activities that Explorers might do include:

  • working on local community or environmental projects,
  • hikes and expeditions,
  • going on camps,
  • learning about the world and taking action to make it a better place,
  • master skills learnt from previous sections to achieve the Chief Scout's Platinum or Diamond Award,
  • undertake the highest award in Scouting - the King's Scout Award,
  • go on a 10 day overseas expedition of a lifetime to achieve the Explorer Belt.
